The table above is sorted by deaths per one million people. Italy is number 6 and the US is number 10 in the world out of 215 nations.
Look at the number of total recovered cases cases versus active cases. You can see that very hard hit Italy has brought their active cases way down as a percent of recovered cases. The US is about even between recovered cases and active cases. It is likely that the deaths in the US will continue to rise rapidly. We are at about 150,000 deaths now.
Poor Belgium has a very high number of active cases.
